Hunting for
Cape Bushbuck

Bushbuck can be hunted year-round in South Africa, but the dry months from June to October are best due to lower vegetation and their high water dependency. In winter, look for them below rocky outcrops and in valleys. They are active in the early morning and near water at dusk. Historically hunted with beaters, today they are pursued using the walk-and-stalk method. Bushbuck are attracted to green fields in winter and may alert you with a dog-like bark. Bow hunting is most effective from a blind or over water. Known as the African Whitetail, they are the smallest spiral-horned antelope, requiring good marksmanship.
